Haftanın Öne Çıkanları
1) ChatGPT Plugins
Following the announcement of GPT-4, which we mentioned in last week's newsletter, another groundbreaking development took place this week. Now, when using ChatGPT, you'll be able to add extensions to your conversations. Just as browser extensions greatly contribute to our browsing comfort on the internet, we'll experience the same effect while chatting with AI. With OpenAI's announcement, ChatGPT will now allow us not only to solve complex problems or write blog posts but also access real-time data and even make purchases! Some of the extensions that will soon be available to all users include:
Browsing: An experimental model that knows when and how to browse the internet.
Code Interpreter: Use Python, perform uploads and downloads.
Instacart: Place orders from your favorite local markets.
OpenTable, Expedia, and Kayak: Search for restaurants, flights, and hotels.
Klarna and Shop: Shop online.
Wolfram: Solve even a third-degree differential equation.
Speak: Learn how to say anything in another language.
And dozens more plugins;
2) Adobe Firefly
Recently, a competitor has emerged in the design world using artificial intelligence, rivaling the much-talked-about Stockimg AI. Adobe, known for dominating the design world with applications like Photoshop, aims to accelerate designers' design processes with AI through its newly released Firefly.
3) Bing Image
After adding a chat option with GPT support to its self-developed search engine Bing, Microsoft has now also added the ability to create visuals based on users' input using Dall-e. I'd like to share with you an image I created through Bing Create.

4) Google Bard
Competing with ChatGPT, Bard, developed by Google, was made available to some users in the United States and the United Kingdom this week.

Based on some tests by Twitter users, it doesn't seem to work as comprehensively as GPT. For example, it has been shared through unverified examples that it cannot write code or is inadequate in solving complex problems. However, since it has not yet been made available to everyone, it might be too early to assess its overall performance.
5) Github Copilot X
There's more exciting news for software developers. Let me get to the details without making the joke that artificial intelligence will take developers' jobs:)
Microsoft integrated the GPT-4 model into Github Copilot, and with this development, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the future of software development will change significantly with AI. Here are the announced features;
A chat interface has been added for code suggestions.
You'll be able to see responses generated by #AI from code documentation.
You can use GitHub Copilot for the command line.
You can write code using your voice with GitHub Copilot.
You can use GitHub Copilot for pull requests.
You can create unit tests in PRs.
You can receive bug fixes and suggestions in the IDE.
6) Canva AI
Canva announced its new AI tools and branded workspace features in a dazzling launch event. Here are the AI-powered features introduced at the event:
New AI-supported tools: Magic Eraser, Magic Edit, Magic Design, and AI-supported text authoring assistant.
Brand Hub added to Canva's Visual Worksuite for brand consistency.
Magic Replace tool allows asset changes across all designs with a single click.
Users can create a brand kit with company-specific assets.
Administrators can set permissions for in-brand content creation.
Translation feature for over 100 languages and automatic video synchronization with music.
953 new fonts and non-workspace-specific additional tools.
As we reach the end of AI Ship's second issue, I would like to share our thoughts on the future of artificial intelligence technologies by drawing a connection to the Ship of Theseus paradox. The Ship of Theseus is a philosophically significant paradox. According to the Greek myth, as reported by Plutarch, the ship of Theseus, who returned victorious from Crete, was preserved in Athens as a memorial for a long time. As the ship's timbers decayed over time, they were replaced with new ones, to the point where eventually, no original part of the ship remained. This raises questions about whether the essence of the ship is lost while it has a constantly changing and evolving structure. Similarly, artificial intelligence technologies are continually evolving and moving toward the concept we call artificial general intelligence (AGI).
In this process, considering the paradox of the ship of Theseus, the issue of protecting the essence of human beings, rather than the main purpose of artificial intelligence, is very much in the back of my mind these days. Especially after the industrial revolution, developments that took place at a speed never seen before in the history of the world have led to the division of labor between people and the use of human power in very few areas. Yet our bodies still need thousands of years to evolve in parallel with these developments. While even the ability of our bodies and brain functions to adapt to this process in a fully synchronized way is a matter of debate at the moment, I am very excited that we, as humanity, are so close to a general artificial intelligence that can even govern countries in such a short time.
As a generation that can only find a place for ourselves in the last lines of the last page when we fit the entire world history into a 2500-page book, it is really fascinating to witness and even contribute to developments that humanity cannot even dream of in the remaining 2499 pages, and I think we still have a hard time grasping this...
And finally, as every week, I will continue to shape the course of our ship in AI Ship next week by presenting you with artificial intelligence technologies, ethical issues, and developments in the industry. I would like to thank my valuable readers who join me in this exploration and wish you a great week until we meet again in the exciting and innovative ports of the AI world!
